Subject: Singer and Drummer Needed for Black Sabbath Tribute
Message# 50294
Name: Rob

We are: Lead Guitar and Bass player looking for a Singer and Drummer to form a new Black Sabbath tribute band. The goal is to create an authentic sounding and performing rendition of the godfathers of heavy metal, working from the original recordings to play each song as close to original as possible.

The plan is to create a set list that we’re all on board with, no dictatorship here. We’ll learn the songs on our own, from the same recording, then practice once a month to go over things and get familiar with each other. We only want to play quality gigs and we want them to be like going to a concert (no three set gigs with breaks and playing until 1 in the morning). We also want to spread the gigs out. The goal is once every other month, maybe a little more frequent if we play different areas.

This is a good opportunity for a person that’s in a band that plays music that gets girls on the dance floor, but underneath is a metal head that wants to bust out and play the music that influenced you to play or sing in the first place. You can have the best of both worlds and you won’t need to make a huge commitment. Or if you’re like us, and you just want to be in a part-time band that’s committed and professional, that has drive and direction, this could be the band for you.

What we need in a singer: someone that can be like Ozzy. You don’t have to be exactly like him (no one is expecting you to dump water over your head or act like a crazy person). You just need to be a front man that engages the audience and sing the Sabbath songs. It would be great if you can cover both Ozzy and Dio, but you don’t need to sound exactly like them. After all, what’s a Sabbath tribute without playing War Pigs and Heaven and Hell?

What we need in a drummer: someone that can play in the Bill Ward style, his drumming is very important to the Sabbath sound; we can’t be an authentic Sabbath tribute with someone that takes shortcuts on the drums. I can’t stress this enough, the fills and timing on the drums are the backbone of the Sabbath sound.

Serious inquiries only, please, we don’t want to go round and round playing email tag if you’re not serious about playing music.
