MATURE, VERSATILE GUITAR PLAYER NEEDED
We are an "oldies" dance band that also performs some more recent material. We don't do metal, screamo, emo, punk, rap, or hip-hop. We do some R&B tunes, a little funk, and a little country-rock as well. We have a very good M vocal, keys, bass, drums, and a good PA with a very good soundman. We generally get invited back to places we play.
Y'know how Spinal Tap kept losing drummers to spontaneous combustion? We've been kinda that way with guitarists. Don't expect to make a living on this, or become a star, but have fun and get a paid gig maybe every 4 to 6 weeks? That's where we are, and need you to be.
You should be comfortable playing rhythm comps and fills as well as leads. You don't have to be a shredmeister, or cop cover solos note for note, as long as you play musically and stay in time. Most of our material is fairly easy, but you have to be able to play it with the rest of us, shining your light and voice on your solos, and supporting, not stepping-on others the rest of the time.
Age, gender, Coke/Pepsi preference, etc. is not an issue if you can play, but you should know that the rest of us are over 50, with a few well over. ;) If you're younger than us, we won't hold that against you. Most of us have day jobs, families, etc. and we respect and work around each others' schedule demands. We're a very congenial, easy-to-get-along-with group. We work hard at gigs and rehearsals, but still have a lot of fun. We'll welcome any new ideas or songs you may bring to us. We all contribute to our arrangements and material, and rehearse at mutually-agreeable times in Cockeysville.
Respond by email to me (bass) or call our drummer/leader at four-ten, six six six, nine zero zero seven
