Gayle Harrod - Lead Vocals
Gayle Harrod is a relative newcomer but quickly building a name for herself in the Baltimore / D.C. area music scene.  Gayle has been fronting bands since 2011 with Soul and Blues band, “Triple Shot”, Classic Rock and Blues band, “Blues Deluxe” and Blues R&B band Shakedown before bringing together some of the best musical talent in the area for The Gayle Harrod Band.

Gayle has shared the stage with legendary Boogie Woogie Piano man Daryl Davis, and Chicago Bluesman Lurrie Bell as well as being mentored by the likes of Gaye Adegbalola of Saffire Uppity Blues Women and Resa Gibbs of MSG Acoustic Blues Trio.  She has performed on stages large and small including the 2016 D.C. Blues Festival at Carter Baron Ampitheater and Bethesda Blues and Jazz supper Club.

With vocal performances that are moving, heartfelt and powerful, whether she’s belting out her own interpretation of a decades old Blues standard or channeling the style of an R&B icon, she is equally at ease.  Gayle commands the stage with versatility and dynamic control that captivates audiences.   Her raucous, and gravelly vocal style, reminiscent of greats like Etta James and Koko Taylor, makes people sit up and take notice.  Her warm, soulful tone and smooth, uplifting R&B vocals gets them grooving on the dance floor with some Aretha and Gladys Knight.  But it’s the raw emotion of an intimate ballad that she feels right down to her soul that connects her with her audience on a personal level, always leaving them wanting more and garnering both fans and accolades wherever she goes.

Chuck Ferrell - Drums, Percussion and Back-up Vocals
Chuck began his professional career at the age of 14. He has performed with jazz, rock and country artists all over the world. Hailing from Danville, Virginia, he attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where he studied private drum instruction with drummer Clarence Penn and jazz ensemble under the tutelage of Ellis Marsalis.

When it comes to performances, Chuck has demonstrated excellence when playing for great artists such as Melba Moore, Mary Wilson, Kevin Walker, Lafayette Gilchrist, Alex Brown, Keter Betts and Gary Grainger.

In 2010, Chuck and Gary Garlic released the book Groove Theory -a- comprehensive guide for the drum set percussionist.  Mr. Ferrell is a rhythm section clinician, who has worked with high school and professional bands to assist them in honing their skills.  He also garners production credits for a number of CD’s including: “The Potomac Jazz Project, “Bob, Ballads and Blues," co producer, Stan Hamrick; “Tuesday Blues," a blues compilation disc, “7 Improvisations," Shaman Flame Records with producer/engineer Johannes Welsch, “Evolution," “Breaking Barriers," with guitarist/producer Damon Foreman.

Stan Turk - Guitar
Growing up in a musical family in Baltimore, Stan’s musical career has covered almost every style and genre of music.  Stan began playing in local clubs and bars well before he was old enough to drive much less order a beverage!  Early in his career, he was fortunate enough to study with some of the great guitar instructors in the area: Larry Woolridge and Walt Namuth.  As a teen, he worked with many talented local musicians working steadily in local lounges and supper clubs and impressed local entertainment columnists enough to marvel at a teenage band that could “actually read music.”  That period included appearances on the “Kerby Scott Show” with The Casino Royales and performing backup for the 60’s group The Angels (“My Boyfriend’s Back”) with The Marlins.  Following that, he spent several years playing with some talented jazz-rock bands Jeremiah, United Endeavor, Falstaff, covering music from Chicago, BST, etc., often with horn players from Hank Levy’s renowned Towson State Jazz Ensemble, and providing opening-act support for such national acts as The Guess Who.

After that, Stan’s full-time musical career took him up and down the east coast – from Florida to Connecticut, and nearly every state in between -- performing floor shows for about two years.  Stan returned to the area to play clubs locally, mostly with the bands Pzazz, Secrets and Radiant and has performed at just about every major musical venue in the Baltimore/Washington/Ocean City region, including “Club Venus,” “Christopher’s,” “Golden 40,” “Chaps,” “Mr. Pip’s,” “Pecora’s,” and “The Paddock,” to name just a few, as well as providing backup for such nationally-known acts such as “The Coasters.”
Stan now concentrates on playing jazz, blues and R&B and is pleased to be performing with this extremely talented band.
