I just wanted to take the time to say Thank you from my heart to all the people who have come to our shows and supported the band. We have made many new friendships, met tons of people. We’ve been able to come to some of your homes and play parties for you it has been a great ride. I have been very lucky to be able to play with a lot of characters we know as musicians! To my band: Ben “Silky” Ben Arellano, “Cono” Conor Aylsworth, “Bub” Brian Arellano , “Bonzo” Mark Johnson. We have made it through the ups and downs, the ins and outs - 😀 You all know I love you guys / gal and have been very lucky to be able to recreate some of the greatest Rock n Roll tunes that have ever been written with the help of you all ! Of course sometimes the songs played are the “Against the Grain version” but we have always given it our best effort.🤔 Something just seemed to gel within our group and allowed us to play well enough where we can get the crowd going and you feed off their energy!

Huge Thanks to Phil Jacoby “Philtone guitar company” for keeping the guitars playable. Bills Music VIPs Lou Campagnoli and Jim Mays for all your advice and help over the years; sincerely appreciate it “Oh Wise Ones”.
Last but not least I would like to Thank my wife who I love dearly and has supported me through the years running the band giving up her time and weekends, holidays to allow me to go act like the Rock star that I’m not!🤩As Jackie Gleason used to say in the Honeymooners “Baby you’re the greatest!” ❤️❤️ I’m sure all the rest of these musicians would tell you the same that without their significant other to help them through the good and the bad they would be up shits creek without a paddle.
As Ringo always says I wish you:
“Peace and Love”
God Bless – Keep Rockin,
Your friend always, Tom
“Sometimes you have to go Against the Grain”

How much experience does the band have?

Against the Grain was established in July of 1999. All members of the band have been playing since high school. We all work full time and just enjoy playing out and having a good time!
The band's goal is to spread the word that Rock and Roll is alive and well!
You will hear some good ole fashioned Rock and Roll mixed in with some modern Rock. This includes everything from The Beatles, The Who, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Journey, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd up to Stone Temple Pilots, Grace Potter, Florence and the machines and Bruno Mars. We aim to please and we'll do what is necessary for people to have a good time at a reasonable cost!
