Sepia is a four-piece modern rock band from Baltimore, MD. Starting in 2006 as an acoustical folk rock group, the band has since incorporated acoustic-based guitar into their own unique blend of original music. Pulling from a set of influences spanning rock, blues, and post-punk, their catalog is a diverse mix of catchy and energetic tunes. Regardless of labels, their music is distinctly "..::Sepia::.."
Sepia performs within the general Maryland, DC, and Virginia area, and regularly coordinates music events with multiple bands at such venues at Sonomas in Columbia, MD and Blue Beetle Rock Bar in Burtonsville, MD. The band has headlined venues such as Rams Head Live, Bourbon Street, Jaxx, Sidebar, Brass Monkey, and Ottobar. Some of their featured events include the 2013 Sepia CD Release Party at Sonomas and Café 611 in Frederick, MD, 2011 MMTA Driving Championships at Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD, “Lunch on the Lane” in Westminster, MD, and Taps in Federal Hill in Baltimore, MD. Sepia has been mentioned in Carroll County Times; "whatever you call it, their unique blend pulls from a diverse set of influences spanning blues, rock, punk, metal and pop", and has been given praise by BlogTalkRadio's Gettysburg Gerry who states that Sepia has "a lot of power behind the songs", and that they "they put in the work, and have a sound that they own".
Sepia had released their long awaited, full length debut album, "Break My Heart", mixed and mastered at Orion Sound Studios in Baltimore, MD in January 2013. The album has been given great reviews by Michael McGeehan of Shockwave Magazine and by various anonymous listeners on ReverbNation. Sepia's first single "Little Miss Shotgun" is being used as the theme to the Social Studmuffin weekly broadcast program, and on 98 ROCK and HFS 104.9. Sepia has been featured on multiple occasions on HFS Locals Only Spotlight segment hosted by the well known VJ Reada. Sepia’s second single “Harmony” received regular airplay during Ocean 98.1’s Live Lixx and Six, and on HFS and 98 ROCK. Multiple tracks were played on BlogTalkRadio during a 45 minute interview prior to the albums release. Popular VJ Matt Davis invited Sepia to their yearly Rock the Dock event at Hard Rock Cafe's pier after a stand out show at their weekly Noise in the Basement segments. A segment from the song "Fight" is currently being used as a promotional tool for Orion Sound Studios where Sepia had recorded. Sepia CD’s are currently available at CDepot in College Park, MD. New material is expected later this year.
