Here is our story. It is a bit lengthy but I don't want to leave anything out.
My guitarist friend and I have been playing for over 45 years and have covered pretty much everything but rap and hip hop.
I recently went on early retirement as no one wants to hire us "older" folks.
After spinning my wheels and putting resumes out I have decided that I am going to play again however not looking to mass produce a bunch of cover tune but selectively choose those songs that are guaranteed to have emotional, artistic, and "WOW" appeal.
We need to find a drummer and bass player (Keys would be nice too) hopefully local to 20794 zip code with a place to rehearse to put together an act to promote online and through local shows. The intention being laying down originals for a video and the best of the best classic material as well
Guitar player and I did an original CD back in 2009 that was submitted to a producer who offered us a deal but when the economy on the ropes; the funding dried up.
So I am tired of the lame club and GigMasters scene and looking for some older guys looking to have a new lease on life; a second childhood if you will.
We have strong social media presence however not using it as we need tools i.e. video. It is our hope to do a set's worth of material, capture a top flight video, and use our social media (twitter, myspace, facebook, reverbnation, YouTube, and our website) to promote the crap out of it.
Looking to work as much as possible. Vocals a MUST. NO booze or drug issues.
We have both worked in cover bands and honestly at this stage of life think that what is the point of doing something half assed?
