Name: Whisky Train

WANTED -- lead/rhythm guitarist (with backup and some lead vocal ability) to join established Baltimore-based (Parkville) Party Rock Band, Whisky Train (established 2002).

Established power trio, Whisky Train, has a vacancy in our guitarist slot. We are looking for a professional, versatile, and experienced guitarist who is ready to step right in and start gigging an average of 3 to 4 shows a month.

Whisky Train is a “party-rock” band that covers a wide variety of classic, 80's, 90’s, roots/blues, and some modern rock covers...really just a little bit of everything! We also have about 2 CDs worth of originals that are also performed when the room calls for it or for the occasional opening slot for nationals. About half of our current shows are ALL-ACOUSTIC so willingness to turn down and play “unplugged” shows is also a must.

Requirements:
  • Availability
  • Ready to immediately step in and perform our current song list.
  • Backup harmony vocal ability (singing a few leads, even better!)
  • Professional/reliable equipment (electric and acoustic), sense of volume, and good tone
  • Willingness to travel around the surrounding Baltimore area (occasional ocean trips, too!)
  • Ability to learn tunes quickly at home
  • Able to bring some people out to the shows
  • Stage presence
  • Good attitude; willingness to help with load-in and load-out; preferable long-term commitment

About Us:

Our biggest influences are The Beatles, Kiss, CCR, Rolling Stones, The Who, and Led Zeppelin, and newer acts like Green Day, Gin Blossoms, & Foo Fighters. IF you dig all of these groups, you are probably our person! However, we don’t restrict ourselves, nor do we want to be the typical “classic rock” band—our goal is to have the people up and dancing to a VARIETY of great tunes all night long.

Over the years we have opened for national and regional acts in the area including Eddie Money, Three Dog Night, Kix, Funny Money, Robin Trower, LA Guns, UFO, Roomful of Blues, and Tom Principato.

We have performed at major outdoor festivals including HonFest 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 & 2007, Dundalk Heritage Fair, MD BBQ Bash 2011, Parkville Town Fair 2012 & 2011, Perry Hall Town Fair 2011, Bel Air First Fridays 2012 & 2009, Edgestock 2010 & 2008, Towsontown Spring Festival 2003 & 2005, and Power Plant Live!

If this sounds like a good match for you, please contact either Dave or Mike at whiskytrainband@aol.com.
